New Here?
Welcome to St Teresa of the Child Jesus. Our parish covers the areas of Trent Vale, Hanford, and Trentham in Stoke-on-Trent but we welcome you from wherever you are and we welcome you whoever you are. St Teresa's is a growing community of disciples with a heart for Jesus, his Church, and his Mission.
We all have to start at some point, and we all grow together. Whatever has lead you to St Teresa's, we would love to be part of your journey and join us growing as followers of Jesus. |
Sunday is the day we gather for Holy Mass. It’s a great way to see what happens and to be welcomed in person to St Teresa’s. Don’t worry about not knowing anyone or what to do, just feel welcome.
If this is your first time coming to a church or Catholic church, or it has been a while since you’ve been to church, join us for Alpha. We run Alpha a few times each year. They are series of relaxed weekly sessions where we meet for a meal, watch a video, and have a gentle discussion about the basics of our faith. |
Our Story
St Teresa of the Child Jesus was built in 1928 by Michelin. They wanted to create a place for their French workers to pray when they opened their UK operations in Stoke-on-Trent.
For almost 100 years, St Teresa's has been a welcoming home for local Catholics and anyone who wants to know Jesus more and follow him. |
The church is dedicated to St Teresa of the Child Jesus, sometimes called St Therese of Liseuxe. She was a French Carmelite nun who created a spirituality called the Little Way. This is a way of living life doing little act of love for God and for those people around us. Little by little we notice God at work in our lives and we love him more and serve him in our brothers and sisters.

A Heart for the Church
We are part of the Catholic Church. We commit ourselves to understanding what the Pope and the Bishops teach us. We desire all people to know that their faith is not lived alone, we are the body of Christ.
|
A Heart for Mission
We commit ourselves to sharing our love for Jesus, our love the Church he established with other people. We desire to become missionary disciples who make missionary disciples.
